ʻʻWatching educational programs at ages 2-10 can improve academic skills, like reading, vocabulary, and math" (Lobue). Screen time is fun. You can play games and watch online shows. But, screen time is limited and people go on it for just 2-3 hours. You may not know it, but screen time is helpful. It can improve skills in school, help people to make online friends, and it lets you spend quality time with family and friends. These are the reasons that screen time is better for everyone.

Almost everyone has that dream of going to college but you need to go through some things at school. Games and shows can help some people get to college. Games like Minecraft can teach kids skills in building and with Minecraft ED (Education Edition), kids can now learn school subjects in the world of Minecraft. Watching “Sesame Street” from the time the show first aired in 1969 found that kids who watched the program showed better academic skills (LoBue). This means that t.v shows like Sesame Street and other educational shows can help kids to learn skills at an early age so that they will be ready for school in the future.

Not only does screen time help improve a child's mind, but it can also help children make new friends. People who play video games can meet friends online. Youtubers meet by other Youtubers playing games with them and then end up becoming friends. This can even lead to making videos together. This is also helpful because kids who have a hard time making friends, can now make friends online in video games.

Screen time can also help with careers, jobs, and even college. Major colleges like MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and ITT (ITT Technical Institute) are mainly involved around computers and technology, which requires more screen time. Different jobs are centered around screen time like a technician, construction worker, and even a Youtuber.ʻ'The superheroes they watched brought them into their fiction writing and dramatic play" (Henward). This means that even shows about superheroes can inspire kids to become actors or to write their own comics and books about superheroes.

Some people might say that screen time can harm a child's brain and can make them inactive. But, if kids go on learning websites that are educational, then they can learn something new, get good jobs, and maybe even meet new people. More screen time is better for everyone.
