Ring Ring! "Ok time's up, get off."

"Can I have a little more time?" 

"Nope It will hurt your eyes. "

"Fine." 

Do you think that kids should have more time to be in front of electronics? I think that kids should not have a limit on their game time. I say this because a study shows that game time helps kids focus on the subject that is going on in school like they focus on the game. Furthermore, research done in 2015 shows how many hours the average kid spends on electronics. Also, There are statistics on how games can be educational like ABCmouse.

My first reason why kids should have more screen time is because research done in 2015 said, “On average the 3-4 year old spends 3 hrs a day in front or on the screen. Also, the 5-7 year old spends 4-5 hrs a day. And last but not least the 8-11 year olds, or teens, spend 6-7 hrs a day”(Jarry). Additionally, if you limit kids, they will only spend half of what they should be spending. This means they will lose time to learn and they might fail in school.

My second reason why kids should have more screen time is there are some statistics that show some games can be academic, like Just Dance for the Xbox One. The game just dance will make you dance to win. If you dance you are getting some time to work out and you're having fun dancing with multiple people to see who can be the best dancer (McGonigal). Furthermore, games can help you in school because if you don't do good in school, then your parents won't let you play on the weekends. This motivates kids to do their best in school so that they can earn their time on the weekends.

My Last reason is that some screen time can be educational, like ABCmouce.com. If you don't have that much game time, then you can't really learn and you might not be in the grade level or lexile your supposed to be in. Although ABCmouse is fun games, you are still learning how to read and that will  get you ahead of where your peers are at now (Mayo).

Although some people don't agree with me because screen time is unhealthy and could hurt your eyes. If you take the time to read, playing games can be helpful like ABCmouse. Lots of schools use it, in fact my little sister uses it to help her learn how to read at home. Playing games and having more screen time is better in ways you might not have thought about.
